# How to Start Trading

### What do I need in order to trade on HelloTrade?

You can trade on Hello Trade with a normal DeFi wallet or by logging in with your Google or Apple account.

If you choose to use a normal DeFi wallet, it would require:

1. An EVM wallet
   * If you don’t already have an EVM wallet (e.g., Rabby, MetaMask, WalletConnect, Coinbase Wallet).
   * After downloading a wallet extension for your browser, create a new wallet.
   * **Reminder:** Your wallet has a secret recovery phrase. Anyone with access to your password or seed phrase can access your funds. **Do** **not** **share** your private key with anyone.
2. Collateral
   * USDC and ETH (gas to deposit) on Arbitrum, or
   * BTC on Bitcoin, ETH/ENA on Ethereum

### **How do I onboard to HelloTrade?**

If you choose to log in to HelloTrade with Google or Apple account

1. Click the "Continue with Google" or “Continue with Apple” button and enter your account information, and you will be redirect to Hello Trade after you successfully signed in.
2. Now you're connected. All that's left is to deposit. A new blockchain address is created for your account. You can send USDC over Arbitrum, BTC on Bitcoin, ETH/ENA on Ethereum. It’s easy to do from a centralized exchange or another DeFi wallet.

### How do I trade perpetuals on HelloTrade?

With perpetual contracts, you use USDC as collateral to long or short the asset instead of buying the asset itself, like in spot trading.

1. Using the asset selector, choose an asset that you want to open a position in.
2. Decide if you want to long or short that asset. If you expect the price to go up, you want to long. If you expect the token price to go down, you want to short.
3. Use the slider or type in the size of your position. Position size = your leverage amount \* your collateral
4. Lastly, click Place Order. Click Confirm in the modal that appears. You can check the “Don’t show this again” box so you don’t have to confirm each order in the future.
